RECOVERY COACHING

• What is Recovery Coaching?

Recovery Coaching is a form of support where a trained and certified coach guides individuals through the Recovery process, offering personalized structure, gentle accountability, and motivation to maintain long-term Recovery. We focus on cultivating life skills, developing healthier habits, and reaching personal and professional goals.

• How is Recovery Coaching different from therapy or counseling?

Recovery Coaching focuses on the present and future, helping clients set goals and/or stay accountable. While therapy often addresses underlying trauma or emotional issues, Recovery Coaching is typically non-clinical and more action-oriented. We help clients implement practical skills rather than provide mental health treatment.

• Are you a sober coach? Do you offer addiction treatment?

While we do not provide medical treatment for addiction, we can guide individuals on finding the resources that best aligns for them to help them on their Recovery journey. While our support services focuses on Recovery from alcohol, substance misuse – whether the individual chooses sobriety / abstinence  or not – we also focus and offer Recovery Coaching surrounding relationship healing, family dynamics and process addictions to porn, sex, love, food, work and social media.

• Who can benefit from a Recovery Coach?

Anyone in Recovery, whether newly sober or in long-term Recovery, can benefit from a Recovery Coach. We support individuals struggling with substance misuse, addiction, those going to treatment and/or returning from treatment, or anyone looking to strengthen their commitment to Recovery. This also applies to family members, friends, employers or employees that have been effected by someone else’s substance misuse, addiction, alcoholism, trauma and/or other mental health challenges.

• What kind of training or qualifications do Recovery Coaches have?

Recovery Coaches may be certified through Recovery Coach training programs and often have personal experience with addiction or recovery. I have done the training through https://www.recoverycoachacademy.co.uk/ with at least 70+ CPD hours and I am a designated Recovery Coach Professional through https://ccar.us/ since 2024.

• Do Recovery Coaches provide medical advice or treatment?

While we are not medical / clinical professionals, we offer guidance and support regarding Recovery but do not provide medical, clinical or therapeutic advice. If needed, clients would need to seek appropriate healthcare professionals for medical or mental health issues.

• Can I use a Recovery Coach along with other support like therapy, treatment, aftercare or a 12-Step program?

Yes! Recovery Coaching complements therapy, 12-Step programs and other Recovery resources. We often encourage clients to use a range of support systems if they feel it benefits their Recovery.

• I don't go to 12-Step programs. Is it okay to have a Recovery Coach?

Yes! Recovery Coaching supports whatever works best for the individual and their recovery. We believe you are the expert of your journey!

• I don't have addiction issues, can I benefit from Recovery Coaching?

Yes! We coach anyone that's looking to address any area of their lives they feel they can improve, develop and/or expand. Sometimes with an abundance of resources, they don't always know what works best to tackle it. Recovery Coaching can help fine tune a pathway that works for the individual as they navigate through areas they feel needs improvement, developing and/or expansion.

• I'm not in Recovery but I have some things to work on. Can you help?

Only if you feel so! If after what you've seen on this website speaks to you, we are here to help. Whether you're working on your recovery, healing, wellbeing, wellness, growth, independence, self-esteem, confidence, change or purpose, etc. or any word that lands best for you, finding your voice is where it starts. We're happy to coach you though that process and witness your journey.

SESSIONS

• How often do I meet with a Recovery Coach?

Recovery Coaching frequency varies based on individual needs and the agreed-upon session planning. Sessions can be weekly, bi-weekly, or as needed to support your goals and accountability.

• What are the typical areas you work on with clients?

Clients often come to us for guidance in areas like substance misuse, addiction, alcoholism, trauma and/or other mental health challenges. Some of them may not identify as addicts or have mental health challenges yet we guide them on personal growth, career development, self improvement, emotional resilience, relationship healing and/or family dynamics. We help clients find clarity, insights that cultivates self-confidence, and curate lasting changes that align with their values and life goals.

• What does a typical Recovery Coaching session look like?

Sessions differs based on what the client is seeking. Some are conversational, some are practical, forward focus and goal oriented and some discuss accountability, etc. We meet the client where they're at. The idea is to curate a safe space where healing and/or change takes place.
