MEET ALTON

I am Ahmed "Alton" Tacubanza Anjum, your Recovery Coach Professional based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. I am a person in sustained recovery – where I no longer live in active process addiction, alcoholism and trauma since 11 November 2021. The transformative process of change I’ve endured has empowered me to create a self-directed, holistic and purposeful life for myself, career and community. Through that process I’ve experienced Recovery as freedom, curiosity, adventure and joy!

With my lived experience of addiction, trauma, and being in recovery, as well as a dear friend strongly suggesting I pursue Recovery Coaching, I was inspired to set-up Creo Being where I extend the work I do as I experience healing while helping others. I was born and raised in Dubai to expat parents. I am an avid writer spending 15+ years working on different concepts, ideas, lyrics and poems which helped me made sense of what is happening around me. I also take photos of what speaks to me most when it comes to day to day life and how the stillness of what I’m seeing reminds me to capture the moments that light me up inside. During my downtime, I go to the beach, walk, hike and cycle to experience storytelling through writing, words, conversations and photography.

I am a certified and designated Recovery Coach Professional, proud alumni and Global Associate of Recovery Coach Academy UK & RCA Wellbeing.

While there is rapid awareness and development of substance misuse, addiction recovery, trauma recovery, mental health and professional growth in UAE, there can be confusion on our resources leaving some of us feeling like help isn’t attainable or achievable. That’s where we come in because we believe you have the opportunity to live life in Recovery, healing and/or with purpose. The choice is yours, change is possible and you are the expert of your own journey! Are you willing to experience a process of change aimed at improving your quality of life in your personal wellbeing and professional development? While my role is "Recovery Coaching" from a compliance, ethical and certification standpoint, you can consider me your life coach, creative coach, sounding board, bufferer, active listener holding space, friendly professional and/or 'personal trainer for the mind' – whatever speaks to you most. Let’s explore the possibilities together!

With love,

Alton
